The main objective of the project is to produce a new generation of engineers capable of providing leadership in the design and execution of engineering projects, by developing MSc courses in Highway/road construction engineering and Vehicle engineering fields. In addition to the main goals, other advantages and benefits will be achieved, including establishment of close collaboration between consortium member universities from EU and Uzbekistan, for exchanging students and academic staff with short-term mobility programs within EU or university funded programs/projects, as well as establishment of cooperation links with industries.

Some WP activities performed by UPB Team:

- establishing interdepartmental engineering laboratories in Uzbekistan, Tashkent and Samarkand, June 2017

- intensive training courses for Uzbek teachers in University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, February and July 2016


University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest (UPB) joins the Startup Europe Comes to the Universities (SEC2U) initiative, organized by the Startup Europe University Network (SEUN) and supported by the European Commission (Startup Europe). SEC2U is an initiative to showcase the commitment of European universities to create a strong culture of entrepreneurship and innovation within the academic community.

The research, development and innovation results will be transferred to the society by creating startups and spin-offs with high added value, based on knowledge and technological development that is being generated in the university community. The initiative will generate new collaboration opportunities and help to showcase the entrepreneurial support programmes that are already being developed by different universities.

In the frame of SEC2U initiative, University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest will organize an event that will take place on 20 October 2016 in UPB Library Building in order to bring together entrepreneurs, businessmen, students, university professors and government representatives.

During the event, the entrepreneurs will be able to familiarize themselves with the opportunities and support available for growing their businesses and innovation level inside their companies. In addition, a networking and panel discussionis scheduled during the event.
